ABOUT ZURI AT-HOME SENIOR CARE
A Career Built on Purpose, A Company Built on Compassion.
Every family’s care journey starts the same way: with a need too important to leave in the wrong hands. We understand that need personally — because our founder lived it before she ever built a company around it.
From Corporate Leader to Caregiver to Entrepreneur
Christine Chesire didn’t start out in caregiving. A graduate of the University of Nairobi, she spent years climbing the ranks of the corporate world, holding titles like Chief Projects Engineer, Regional Manager, and Terminal Manager for a government-owned oil and gas pipeline company. It was a demanding, high-achieving career — the kind most people spend a lifetime building toward. But somewhere along the way, Christine realized that success on paper wasn’t the same as impact in someone’s life. She wanted work that touched people directly, not just projects and pipelines.
That search led her into caregiving. She joined a franchised home care company to learn the industry from the inside, working hands-on with clients and families. What she found surprised her: an industry with real potential to change lives, held back by corporate systems that treated care like a transaction. Christine believed care could be better — more personal, more responsive, more human. So she left the franchise model behind and started Zuri At-Home Senior Care to build the kind of company she wished existed.
WHAT MAKES ZURI DIFFERENT
A Family Business, Led By the Person Who Answers the Phone
Zuri isn’t a franchise, and it isn’t run by a distant corporate office. It’s a family business, led by the person who answers the phone when a family calls with an urgent need. Christine takes a hands-on approach to every client relationship — not because she has to, but because she believes that’s what real care looks like. When something needs solving, she’s the one solving it.
- Every caregiver is hand-picked, not just hired
- Insured, trained, and background-checked before meeting a client
- A small, closely-managed team — not a call center
Care Rooted in Relationships
We believe the best care doesn’t come from a checklist. It comes from caregivers who take the time to understand a client’s history, personality, routines, and preferences — the things that make someone who they are, not just what condition they’re managing. That’s why our caregivers build real relationships with clients, not just schedules. A visit isn’t just about tasks completed; it’s about dignity preserved and connection maintained.
We also believe families are partners in care, not bystanders. As a family-owned business ourselves, we know how much peace of mind comes from being kept in the loop. We encourage open communication, welcome family involvement, and stay available to talk through concerns, adjust care plans, or simply answer questions — because a family that feels informed is a family that can trust the process.
A PERSONAL TOUCH, BY DESIGN
Client Safety Is Our First Priority
Christine is a mother of two teenagers, and the values she’s raising them with — empathy, integrity, showing up for people — are the same values she brings to Zuri every day. Our entire caregiving team is:
- Insured
- Trained
- Background checked — before they ever meet a client
That's the Difference Between a Company That Provides Care, and One Built to Care.
Zuri At-Home Senior Care would be honored to bring that same commitment to your family.
